The WorldPay multi-currency processing system enables you to offer your products and services in any of over 120 different currencies, and to receive settlements to your bank account in any of 14 remittance currencies. This allows your customers to purchase goods and services from you in a currency that they recognise and understand.
Your WorldPay Internet Merchant Account includes your first currency free. Additional transaction currencies are available for £50+VAT. Most of our WorldPay customers that use multi-currency processing choose UK Sterling, US Dollar and Euros.
When a shopper visits your site, they can see all pricing in your chosen currency (ie, UK Sterling). When they have selected products to purchase, they proceed to the payment page where they can select their desired payment currency from a drop down menu. The drop down menu shows the pricing in your normal currency (ie, UK Sterling) and the equivalent pricing in other currencies.
If the shopper chooses to pay in another currency (ie, US Dollars), the converted amount is settled to your bank account in your chosen settlement currency (ie, UK Sterling). The shopper's credit card statement will show the transaction in their own currency.
There are many ways you can use mult-currency processing. Some of our WorldPay customers have multiple web sites - ie, one set of web pages with prices in UK Sterling for UK customers and another set of web pages with prices in US Dollars for US customers. You might prefer to build one site (using PHP or ASP) with all pricing drawn from a database. Users could click a button to change the pricing from UK Sterling to Euro or US$.
The WorldPay payment page is available in several other languages including French, German and Spanish, which can help you target European or other world markets. You can have one web site in English with prices in UK Sterling and an English payment page, and another site in French with prices in Euros and a payment page in French. The choice of how to build your site and display pricing is entirely up to you.
