The WorldAccess Virtual Terminal allows the retailer to manually process credit card numbers received by telephone, fax or mail order. You can use the WorldAccess Virtual Terminal in addition to (or instead of) accepting credit card transactions from your website.
The WorldAccess Virtual Terminal is a web interface allowing you to enter your customer's card number and other details into a browser and submit them to your WorldPay merchant account for authorisation and processing. Transactions can be authorised and processed in as little as a few seconds.
Example:
- Shopper telephones retailer to place an order. Retailer enters details into the WorldAccess Virtual Terminal. The shopper waits on the telephone while the transaction is processed.
- WorldPay then check the card number and cardholders details with bank records, and authorise and process the transaction.
- The retailer is notified on screen that the transaction has been authorised, and both the shopper and the retailer receive email confirmation that the transaction has taken place. Retailer informs the shopper that the transaction has been authorised and arranges to despatch the goods to the shopper.
The WorldAccess Virtual Terminal is an optional extra with your WorldPay Internet Merchant Account. Although you will have the WorldPay Internet Merchant Account, you do not need to take payments directly from your website. If you only ever want to take orders by telephone, then no problem, but you must still have the WorldPay Internet Merchant Account.
The WorldAccess Virtual Terminal is available for a one time set up fee of just £100.00 + VAT (£117.50) free of charge (for a limited period only). Transaction fees and settlement terms are the same as for your WorldPay Internet Merchant Account. All transactions processed through your WorldAccess Virtual Terminal will be shown in your Customer Management System together with transactions from your web site.
