LWD Internet have chosen Dell web servers for all of our Linux web hosting. These Linux servers are designed specially to provide fast, efficient and reliable web hosting services. Our Dell web servers use RedHat Linux and the Apache web server and are hosted by Rackspace in the UK to give 99.99% uptime.
Available Technologies
The Linux servers are configured to allow you to use Server Side Includes (SSI), Perl / CGI, PHP and MySQL databases. All servers are WAP enabled, allowing you to host both Web and WAP sites on the one web hosting account. Documentation for use of these technologies is available in our hosting support pages.
Control Panel
Each Linux web hosting account has it's own easy to use control panel, allowing you full control over mailboxes, passwords, databases, backups and so on. Full instructions for use are included in our hosting support pages.
Mailboxes
Each Linux web hosting account comes with at least 5 POP3 mailboxes. Each mailbox can be set up with an autoresponder (vacation message)to send a automatic replies, mail forwarding and email aliases allowing you to send and receive email using any name @yourdomain.com
PHP / Perl / CGI & MySQL Databases
All of our Linux web hosting accounts come with PHP and Perl scripting as standard. MySQL databases are available as standard on most Linux web hosting accounts.
FREE FrontPage Extensions
FrontPage Extensions are available free of charge on all of our Linux web hosting accounts if required.
Graphical Statistics
Each Linux web hosting account comes with Webalizer graphical statistics, showing you how many visitors you've had, which sites they came from, and what search terms they have used on the search engines. You can also download your raw log files to analyse with any other statistics package of your choice.
.htaccess & Password Protected Directories
You can use .htaccess files on all Linux web hosting accounts to password protect directories, rewrite URLs (create search engine safe URLs), ban malicious spiders and robots, and much more.
Upgrades
