This pages in this section are specific to hosting accounts on the Linux web servers. If you have a web hosting account on the Windows servers then you need to read these pages.
Linux Servers
We have standardised all of our Linux hosting on industry standard Cobalt RaQ series servers, which are designed specially to provide fast, efficient web hosting services. Cobalt RaQ servers use RedHat Linux and the Apache web server, both of which are well known, highly respected and well supported.
Scripting
All of our Linux servers have Perl 5 (CGI), PHP4 and MySQL installed as standard. All our Linux servers are WAP enabled. You may also use .htaccess files to control password protection, URL rewriting and other features. For security reasons, Telnet and SSH (shell) access is not provided.
Control Panel
All of our Linux servers have a control panel allowing you to set up mailboxes, change passwords, monitor site usage, back up and restore your data and much more.
Statistics
All of our Linux servers use the well known Webalizer graphical statistics package. You also have access to your raw log files and can download these to use with other statistics packages. More statistical information is available through your control panel.
Other Features
Also available is the majordomo list server to allow you to run a mailing list service. FrontPage extensions are also available, although not recommended.
